All fan movements in Armenia have issued a statement regarding the arrest of fan movement members as a result of a peaceful protest held during the Pyunik-Ararat-Armenia match of the 21st round of the Fastex Premier League on March 1.
"We inform you that during the match between the Armenian Premier League "Pyunik" and "Ararart-Armenia", 9 devoted fans of Armenian football were arrested as a result of the use of violent and disproportionate force by the RA police during a previously announced and peaceful protest demanding the resignation of the Armenian Football Federation leadership."
We consider it necessary to note that during negotiations with the police, the participants of the action expressed their willingness to leave the field and meet with one of the FFA management staff, which was categorically rejected by the FFA representative, after which the use of unnecessary force began.
Once again, we inform you that the actions are exclusively peaceful and football-related.
We call for the immediate release of those who have been unnecessarily detained.
"Football belongs to the fans, our will is unbreakable. Resignation is inevitable."
It is stated in the statement.
It should be noted that earlier there were reports that 11 to 18 fans were arrested.
