Sports journalist and insider Suren Meliksetyan wrote on his social media page that Yeghishe Melikyan, the head coach of Yerevan's "Pyunik", will soon leave the helm of Armenia's most titled club and will head the Armenian national team.
Meliksetyan's post is below:
"According to the information I have, Yeghishe Melikyan will step down as head coach of Pyunik in the coming days and will most likely lead the Armenian national team."
Before the match against Gyor, Melikyan met and had discussions with the Armenian Football Federation leadership.
A likely candidate for the new head coach of Pyunik is Vardan Minasyan, who previously worked with many of the team's current players at Ararat-Armenia.
Let us remind you that under the leadership of an Armenian specialist, the "Pomegranate" team has won the title of champion of Armenia twice.
