Newcastle have temporarily removed Alexander Isak from the team's pre-season plans due to uncertainty over his future, reports Talksport.
The source said the striker will not play in the matches against Espanyol and Atletico Madrid as talks are ongoing over a possible move to Liverpool. The 25-year-old striker had previously missed the team's training sessions, which were focused on an individual program, but later returned to the general group. Despite this, the coaching staff decided not to involve him in the friendly matches.
It is said that the likelihood of selling the player is reduced due to the failure of Benjamin Sheshko to move to Newcastle - the club may simply not have time to find a replacement. Among the possible candidates to strengthen the attack are Ollie Watkins and Nicholas Jackson.
Recall that Isak moved to Newcastle in the summer of 2022 from Real Sociedad for 70 million euros.
