Former defender of the Armenian national team, head coach of Yerevan's "Pyunik" Yeghishe Melikyan, addressed the arrest of our team's fans a few days ago on his social media page.
The 45-year-old specialist calls on the relevant authorities to rule out the use of force.
"A few days ago, I witnessed how they used violence, "spreading" on the grass the fans dedicated to and concerned about Armenian football, who were presenting their demands and had the right to do so.
As a former player of the Armenian national team, I watched that scene with great pain, and I am sure that the use of such extreme methods will not bring Armenian football to any good point.
"I call on the relevant authorities to exclude the use of force, drop all charges and release the arrested fans, and ultimately, engage in dialogue and try to find compromises."
Let us remind you that the fans were holding their protest during the 21st round of the Fastex Premier League match between Pyunik and Ararat-Armenia (1:2).
