"During our protests, we did not have a specific goal of escalation or police intervention. An attempt was made to present the protest, which was entirely football-related, in a different way on various platforms, which did not work. Our protests are peaceful."

On March 1, during the 21st round of the Armenian Premier League championship, the police arrested 9 fans after a protest demanding the resignation of the FFA president during the match between Pyunik and Ararat-Armenia at the Junior Sport Stadium. They are now in custody. It will soon be 48 hours since the fans were arrested.

"The fact that our actions have no political or other nature, they are entirely football-related, aimed at having normal football, turned into something else, an attempt was made to present them in a different way on different platforms. I think that those platforms are not able to present our actions in a different context, because everyone sees how peaceful they are. Maybe our actions are undergoing structural changes, but the goal was not for there to be any special escalations, for the police to intervene. We have put forward and continue to put forward our demands from the beginning of the entire struggle, that is for sure."

This time, there was a slight change in that we stayed on the field longer.

A completely peaceful football action began. We were standing on the field in a friendly atmosphere, talking about football, etc., thus carrying out our action. The police forces, led by their chief, approached. They suggested that we leave the field. We presented what kind of action it was, that it was completely peaceful, and that we demand the resignation of the leadership of the football federation. In order to leave, we demanded a meeting with one of the leadership staff of the football federation to discuss the situation. All this lasted for some time and we were already being told: either you leave or you don’t, if not, they are concentrating police forces and will go for special operations.

"Currently, 9 fans of the team are in detention in the detention center." 

Andranik Daldumyan, representative of the Armenian national team's "Red Eagles" fan movement, told reporters.

It should be noted that the fans began their actions after the national team's recent defeat.
