THE FFA HAS MADE A STATEMENT

The Football Federation of Armenia (FFA) has issued a statement regarding tickets for the 2026 World Cup qualifying match between Armenia and Portugal, which many fans were unable to purchase. The FFA urged not to purchase tickets from resellers.

"Dear fans,

Ticket sales for the Armenia-Portugal match received a great response.

Many blame the FFA for not being able to buy tickets. The Republican Stadium can accommodate a maximum of 14,000 fans. 470,000 people applied for tickets. 1 fan could buy no more than 2 tickets, therefore it was possible to satisfy the demand of about 7,000 applications.

Naturally, around 463,000 fans can complain about not being able to buy tickets.

There were unofficial announcements about the sale on the Internet months before the official ticket sale, and now some people are selling tickets at astronomical prices.

To combat resellers, the Armenian Football Federation was advised to sell match tickets for 100,000-200,000 drams, but one of the main directions of the Armenian Football Federation's strategy is to perceive football as a social phenomenon. Naturally, such a price increase for tickets could not happen.

We would like to inform you that about 7,000 tickets for the 14,000-seat stadium were sold at very affordable prices, 1,000-3,000 drams. These tickets are currently being sold on the market for ten times more.

The QR codes on all tickets sold by the FFA will be activated on the day of the match, September 6. Resellers can sell tickets to multiple people, but only one QR code will be activated. In this case, there could also be a huge wave of protests, which the FFA has nothing to do with.

Dear football fans,

"The FFA urges not to buy tickets from the market to avoid further complications. The FFA is not responsible for tickets sold to other people. By not buying tickets from resellers, we will help to completely eliminate this negative phenomenon from Armenian football in the future," the FFA said in a statement.

Let us remind you that the Football Federation of Armenia (FFA) started selling tickets for the Armenia-Portugal match on September 6 in the early morning of August 14.
