At the World Freestyle Wrestling Championships in Zagreb, the capital of Croatia, Vazgen Tevanyan (65 kg) was unable to overcome the barrier of his first opponent.
In the 1/16 finals, the 2023 European champion lost 8:14 to Dagestan's representative, Tajikistan's Abdulzhamid Kudiyev.
After the first round, Vazgen was winning 5:0, but in the second, Kudiev took the Armenian wrestler down and then rolled him over 6 times.
If Kudiev reaches the final, Tevanyan will be given the opportunity to hold a consolation bout.
