Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has commented on the performance of the Merseyside newcomers after their 1-0 Premier League win over Burnley. The Egyptian also responded to the absence of striker Alexander Isak from the squad. The Swedish player joined the Reds from Newcastle for a fee of £125 million (€145 million).
"Today we had a strong opponent. We did our best to play between the lines, but it was difficult to win. I'm glad we were able to win in the end."
The players are adjusting to our system. We had a few new players in the starting lineup. It takes time to integrate them into our team. We are trying to make them feel comfortable playing. Alex [Isaac] arrived last week and he will play in the team. We are trying to find a balance.
"We're not giving up. We're just trying to give it our best," Salah was quoted as saying by Liverpool's official website.
