"Armenia and Georgia will jointly host the 2029 World Youth Championship."
A short while ago, a meeting of the FIFA Executive Committee was held in Vancouver, Canada, during which the joint bid of Armenia and Georgia to host the tournament was recognized as the winner.
This is an unprecedented event for Armenian football. For the first time, our country will host a major world-class football tournament, which testifies to the great trust of the international community.
This is an invaluable gift to Armenian fans, Armenian football lovers, and, of course, young footballers, who will have the opportunity to feel the spirit of the World Cup in their own home and dream of great victories.
"This is a victory for all of us. Welcome to the World Cup, welcome to Armenia and Georgia. Let's prepare together to host the strongest youth teams in the world," the statement said.
Let us add that on this occasion, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, also sent a congratulatory message on his social media page.
It is worth noting that the Vazgen Sargsyan Republican Stadium in Yerevan will undergo changes, the Vanadzor Stadium will be reconstructed, and a new stadium will be built in Ijevan. The sportsworld.am staff congratulates football fans on this historic event in society and expresses hope that the new infrastructure will be preserved after the upcoming events.
