In the second round of the Europa League, Armenian champions Ararat-Armenia faced Polish side Jagiellonia Białystok in their first away game of the current tournament. Led by Adrian Siemienic, the Polish club mainly plays with a 4-2-3-1 formation, and Jagiellonia Białystok has suffered four defeats in its last five official matches.
At the start of the match, Ararat-Armenia showed active football and already in the 11th minute of the match, Maxim Karlien from the center of the field addressed the ball to Zidane Banjaki, who was in front, who opened the score of the game.
After recent setbacks, Jagiellonia needed to regain their confidence with the support of their own fans, firstly Kamil Jozwiak restored the balance in the 13th minute of the match by taking advantage of a mistake by Bruno Wilson. Near the end of the first half, Rodrigo Conceicao put his team ahead.
At the start of the second half, there was a game episode where the home team applied high pressure which led to the third goal, which was scored by Ousmane Sou, through Joao Bravim's goal. Manuel Tulipa brought on Carlos France, who took the right wing position, and Arayik Eloyan, who took over the central striker duties, replacing Sandro Lima.
Thus, the Yerevan club suffered its second consecutive defeat in the current Europa League tournament and will host the Dutch “AZ-Alkmaar” in Yerevan a week later. Let us recall that the team led by Lee Roy Echteld lost 0:1 to Yerevan's “Noah” in the play-off round of the Conference League on February 19, 2026.
