"This game was special": Arteta on the game against Liverpool

Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta spoke about the victory over Liverpool (1:0) in the 9th round of the English Premier League.

"This game was special for everyone involved with our club. Fourteen years without a win at Anfield is a long time. After the defeat to Fleetwood we decided that everything that happened had a reason. It gave us a thirst for sport. What the team did today was simply incredible.

The game changed direction at times and we created six or seven chances. But as soon as we made a poor pass, the opposition would immediately take the ball away and create chaos. Their ability to create vertical attacks is worth noting. But I was also impressed with how our team coped. "Liverpool were in good form and we deserved this win. The players deserve credit," Arteta told Arsenal's official website.
