Mourinho: "I spoke to him when I arrived"

Real Madrid head coach Jose Mourinho has commented on the situation with defender Raul Asensio, who was fined for driving under the influence of alcohol.

"I spoke to him when I arrived. I spoke to him about the past. Since coming to the club... I don't talk about situations outside of that anymore. Inside the team I would say he is an exemplary professional.

When he was healthy, no one trained harder or better than him. Now that Asensio has been out for several weeks, he is the first to arrive and the last to leave. Raul is showing extraordinary dedication to his recovery.

"However, a Real Madrid player is a Real Madrid player 24 hours a day. Seven days a week. And 12 months a year. Everything you do outside your professional sphere remains with Real Madrid. This damages the club's reputation, which is inviolable. Because of that... I'm not happy. Everyone makes mistakes, but accumulated mistakes... that's another matter," Mourinho was quoted as saying by AS.
