Real Madrid head coach Jose Mourinho has responded to Inter Miami forward Lionel Messi's decision to retire from the Argentina national team at the age of 39.
"It's hard to talk about Messi (smiles). There's nothing more to say. And there are no words that can describe his qualities as a player. For example, he played in this World Cup at 39... or 38 years old, and we saw what he showed."
Messi is one of those players you will miss. We have to watch some MLS games, even though I don't like it that much, but we have to do it to enjoy the last few years.
"As I said in the last press conference, there are players you always miss. Always. Messi is from our generation. We all understand what he has become in the last two decades," Mourinho was quoted as saying by AS.
