Liverpool have announced the signing of 18-year-old goalkeeper Luka Brugmans from Genk. The youngster has signed a long-term contract at the Merseyside club's AXA Sports Centre, the club's official website reports.
According to the deal, the Belgian goalkeeper will not immediately join the English club: he will return to Genk on loan and continue playing in the Belgian top division until the end of the 2026/2027 season.
Brugmans made his debut for Genk in April 2026 after playing 32 games for the reserve team. He then cemented his place in the starting lineup, making 10 more appearances before the end of the season. The Belgian goalkeeper has also had a successful start to the current season, making regular appearances for Genk in all four rounds of the season.
