Manchester City defender Joszko Guardiola is close to signing a new contract with the club, Sky Sports reports.
It was previously reported that Real Madrid was interested in the player, but the Citizens want to protect Yoshko from a move to the scandal-ridden Spanish club and keep the player.
Guardiola has made 120 appearances for the club since joining from RB Leipzig in 2023. Joško has proven to be a versatile player, contributing to the team as a centre-back and left-back. Guardiola is currently recovering from a fractured tibia he suffered in early January, but the injury has not affected Manchester City's desire to extend the 24-year-old Croatian's contract.
