Spain national team head coach Luis de la Fuente has commented on the injury of the team's striker Lamine Yamal. It was previously reported that the player could miss the start of the 2026 World Cup due to a thigh injury.
"First of all, we believe he will arrive in good shape. We are in constant contact with the club, who keep us informed every day about his progress.
"We know he will be in excellent shape. I would dare say he will be ready for the first game, but we will continue to monitor his progress," de la Fuente was quoted as saying by Mundo Deportivo.
In the group stage of the upcoming World Cup, which will take place this summer in the United States, Mexico and Canada, the Spanish national team will compete against Cape Verde (June 15), Saudi Arabia (June 21) and Uruguay (June 27).
